North American Commercial Vehicle Show – Technology is the Focus

We attended the recently held North American Commercial Vehicle Show in Atlanta, GA running from Oct 27-31, 2019 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The industry definitely has its gaze on many of the same trends seen in automotive including electrification, connectivity and driver-assist technology. Many of the OEM’s showed their latest efforts in these areas.

Industry sales for Class 8 trucks are seen to be peaking this year in the mid 300,000 range and seen to be declining in 2020 as the industry comes off some robust investment cycles from customers.

New innovations showed by all the OEM’s regarding efficiencies and use of big data are hoped to spike customer interest in the next few years.

We always enjoy the liberal use of electroplating and were happy to see lots of the big rigs still love to “chrome it up” with their grills, mirrors and other accent pieces.

The Industry will meet again 2 years from now back in Atlanta, GA from September 27-30, 2021.
